One of the things at the TOP of my prayer list lately has been our Kids Hope USA program. Maybe this is because I have been busy with the “end- of-the-school-year checklist” as we wrap-up our 4th year partnering with Carlson Elementary School. It could be because I’m very passionate about this ministry and see “the fruits” as I talk to the staff at Carlson School, have conversations with mentors and prayer partners, and see the lives of students being touched by this ministry. These are both good possibilities, but I think the main reason Kids Hope USA ranks high on my prayer list is because it makes me excited. Who doesn’t want to be excited about their prayers?
I’m excited to see 16 individuals “being the Church” in our community, at Carlson School, every Monday through Friday during the school year. I’m excited to actively work on building a church-school partnership that results in life-changing relationships and provides the most valuable resource all schools need…love for the most vulnerable children. I’m excited to finish the year off strong by thanking the Carlson staff for letting us be partners with them as we honor them at an Appreciation Breakfast on May 3rd before they start their school day. I’m excited to celebrate each mentee at our end of the year Ice Cream Social on May 22nd and pray for the opportunity to meet some of their family members at this event as well. I’m excited to invite our mentees to be part of “Operation Arctic,” our VBS program for summer 2017. And, I’m REALLY excited to see how God will take the seeds that have been sown this past year and make them grow…in His time and in His way!
Kids Hope USA gives “US” the opportunity to make a difference one child at a time in a hurting world. And for that, I’m not just excited, I’m thankful as well!
God has BIG plans!…and not just in the area of Kids Hope USA! What are you excited to pray about this week?
Blessed and Thankful,
Lori
